福島三春町の枝垂れ桜「瀧桜」の子孫に染まる【長久手タイムズ】
長久手東部里山にある福祉の家・天然温泉「ござらっせ」の周りが３月末から紅色に色づいています。福島の田村市三春町にある国指定天然記念物「瀧桜」の直系の子孫50本が、2002年に植樹されたものです。植樹から20数年がたち幹の太さや樹高はまだそれほどではありませんが、枝ぶりも徐々に大きく年々瀧のように垂れ下がりだし全体に立派になってきました。
先週末からほぼ満開になり、今週末はまだ見頃かもしれません。モリコロパークや東部上郷地区に来られる機会があれば立ち寄ってみてはいかがでしょう。
向こう側に見えるのは、福祉の家・天然温泉「ござらっせ」の建物
福島県の中央部に位置する田村市三春町から成木植樹された「瀧桜」（エドヒガシ 枝重桜とも）。樹齢1,000年を超える見事な大樹で、「国天然記念物」に指定されている。
2002年の「福祉の家」竣工記念に瀧桜の成木50本が植樹。2013年には南部浄化センターにも３本、モリコロパークにも植樹されています。日本さくらの会、愛知NEXPOなどの協力で植樹されました。
左の道は現在工事中の近い将来（３年後あたり）開通予定の道路「大府瀬戸線」。奥の丘陵の切り通しになった向こう側へと道路は続きます（工事中）。AEON長久手店と２分程度で結ばれることになります。開通すれば、里山地区に入った途端、道路の両脇に見事な枝垂れ桜を望んで走行することになるでしょう。

「瀧桜」は、岐阜県の「薄墨桜」と山梨県の「神代桜」とともに「日本三大桜」の一つ。
品種はエドヒガシ系の栽培品種「ベニシダレ（紅枝垂桜）」。三春町には2,000本以上の枝垂れ桜が咲く。
ジブリパークフルオープンで新しくなった幟がのぞいています。
黒々とした樹林の岩作御嶽山を背景にピンク、紅色の桜風情が映えます。
