「愛知県陶磁美術館・陶芸館」内覧会へ❶ リニューアルOPEN 第一弾〜となりの瀬戸市【Nagakute Times】
2025年春にリニューアルOPENする「愛知県陶磁美術館」（1978年開館）ですが、「本館」に先立ち、いち早く「陶芸館」（Ceramic Craft Studio)が11月１日に先行オープン
10月24日にメディアに向けリニューアルされた「陶芸館」の内覧会が催されました
「陶芸館」とは、どんな役割の場所で何ができ何を見、知ることができるのか。記憶と現在、そして未来がねり合わされるようなワクワクするスペースへの第一歩がスタートしました
内覧会の様子を２回に分けてレポート致します
先行リニューアルオープンした「陶芸館」（Ceramic Craft Studio)。本館から橋を渡った北側に位置しています。
陶芸館エントランス近くでは楽しげな陶芸オブジェを見つけることができます。
自由な発想を形にすることができ、また戸外に置いても雨風にも強い陶芸のオブジェ。
家の庭にも飾りたくなってきますね。
陶芸館内の「作品鑑賞」や、「作陶・絵付け体験」が行なわれる室内。
リニューアルについて説明される佐藤一信館長。
「1978年の設立から46年が経ち、社会状況の変化とともにハード・ソフト面ともに見直しや変えていかなくてはならないと判断しました。展示の配置から案内看板のサインの方法、PR活動やワークショップの充実を図って行きます。
来館者の皆さまがワクワクしながら当館で一日過ごしていただけるようにしたいと考えています。
この敷地にはかつて８から９もの古窯跡があり、敷地から半径500m圏内には23もの古窯跡があるのが分かりました。この場所は平安時代の人々が実際に焼き物をつくっていたことが実感でき追体験できる場所だと強く感じています。
来館する前と後では心持ちや見える風景が変わっている、そんな場所でありたいと考えています」（佐藤一信館長）

リニューアルにあたって館内マップも大幅に見直しがなされたとのこと。
駐車場から陶芸館へと向かう場所に設けられていたマップも、子供たちにも何をしている場所か感じられるように、「知る」「見る」「作る」と分かりやすいエリア分けがなされていました。
リニューアルで建屋も関心が呼び覚まされるような名称「窯の記憶II」が付け加えられました。
平安時代、『源氏物語』の成立より半世紀ほど後につくられた窯跡
「陶芸館」からすぐのところにある「古窯館 -窯の記憶II」の内部へ
平安時代末から鎌倉時代の11世紀中葉につくられ14世紀初頭まで使われていた古窯跡。とくにこの９号は発掘時、窯跡の状態がよく全容がよく分かる窯跡です。
東海地方の人々が日常的に使った食器がここで焼かれていたとのことです。
「窯の中の温度は、1200度に達するところもあれば1000度を切る場所もあり、焼き具合にはムラが生じたようです。これらの釜は同時並行して操業していたのではなくざっと50年ほど経つと新たに隣に窯を構えたとのこと。
100年ほどこの一帯に窯がない時期がったのは、大量の薪（まき）が必要とされるので、一帯の樹木を伐り尽くしてしまい樹木が成長すると再び釜をつくったと推測されています」

巨大セラミック壁画（陶壁）「瀬戸風景2022」
「2022年の陶磁美術館の企画展「ホモ・ファーベルの断片」で制作展示された幅14.7m×高さ4.5mにわたる巨大セラミック壁画（陶壁）が「古窯館」に設置され披露されました。
制作者は陶芸家の川田知志（さとし）氏で、合計2,100枚ものタイルを用いて、現在の瀬戸の風景を多視点的に鮮やかな色彩で表現しています。
