長久手東部前熊にある東小学校・上郷保育園の南側エリアには広大な「耕作地」が広がっています。長久手市は「農あるくらし、農のあるまち」をめざした「田園バレー事業」がすすんでいて、そのシンボルの一つとして「長久手農学校」が平成16年（2004）にすでに開校しています。
基礎コースから、さらに「農力」を向上させるための様々な農業技術を習得する「農力向上コース」があります。実施場所は東小学校西側に設けられた実習畑です。TOPの写真は、田園から見た長久手東小学校）。
私は少年時代に毎年の田植えの体験はあるものの実質「農力」ゼロなのでこれから「農力」を上げなくてはと思っているひとりです。
中央奥にモリコロパークの大観覧車
右手後方に、リニモの高架が見えます。さらに右手300mの辺りにリニモ「芸大通り駅」があります。
後方に岩作の御嶽山
東小学校の子供たちは長久手市の農業についての学習時間が設けられています。時に近隣の農家の方をゲストにティーチャーとして招き、安全で新鮮な美味しい野菜をつくるお仕事について教えられるとのこと。
