「香流川物語 – Pictures」❶【長久手タイムズ】
長久手市を南東部から北西部へと流れる香流川は、尾張と三河の境となる長久手市東端の三ヶ峯（さがみね）を源流としています。猿投山の南東の尾根に連なる三ヶ峯の向こう側は西三河である豊田市です。
尾張出身の豊臣秀吉と三河出身の徳川家康が、尾張と三河の国境でもあった長久手の地で合戦となったのもそのロケーションが大きな理由の一つといえます。実際、長久手合戦は香流川の北側の色金山に家康が陣を張り、香流川を渡り御旗山へ至り金扇の馬標を立てています。その南側の仏が根一帯が主戦場になりました。
香流川を知ることは、長久手の水系、生態系、自然環境、東部丘陵・東部里山エリアにも意識が少しばかり向かうかも知れません。
市外の方はもちろん、香流川から少し離れた長久手市の西部・南部に居住する新住民にとっては＜もう一つの長久手＞を知る契機になるのではと思います。

「長久手物語 – Pictures」は、『香流川物語』（ 小林元 著 ）の内容に目配せしながら、刊行から 47年後の長久手の変貌と21世紀の空気感を、今も流れる香流川とその流域を中心に「写真」で辿ります。
長久手市の最も東端（豊田市と接しています）にある三ヶ峯地区。このあたりは古くからの住居群と、最近開拓されたコモンヒルズやクリサンテームヒルズといった分譲住宅街が形成されています。その新住宅地の手前にある古くからの池。ここからも香流川へと水が注がれています。
香流川の源流は、ここから東へ１km程の所
香流川・砂防公園は、大昔より大雨の際には土砂の流出が多く、流域に水害をもたらしていました。そのため三ヶ峰から流れ下る土砂を田圃地帯に来るまでに前もって防ぐために設けられ現在は「砂防公園」となっています。
現在も大雨の時は、大量の土砂が流下しますが、土砂が下流に流れ行かないよう溜める工夫が土木技術的になされています。
流出した土砂は砂溜工で留まるため、砂防公園から下流は、再びせせらぎのような流れとなっています。
モリコロパーク内の水系も香流川の水源の一つ
モリコロパークの南東にある池。公園南口の駐車場近くです。この左手に「フィールドセンター もりの学舎」があり、その前を通る道は、サツキとメイの家へたどるもう一つの道となっています。資料的には、モリコロパーク内の各所にある水系も、香流川の水源の一つに数えられています。
「かめの池」から流れ出た水は、すぐ近くの紫陽花の園を抜けてむう一つ下流の池に流れていきます。
香流川の水源の一つ（支流とも）は、モリコロパークの中にある幾つもの水系にあります。
このトンネルの500mほど向こう側には、「あいち里ラボ」、そしてジブリパークの「もののけの里」があります。
ジブリパークの「青春の丘」の前を涼しげなせせらぎとなって流れていきます。
透明感のある小川はスケート場とジブリの大倉庫の手前にある小さな池へと流れていきます。
モリコロパークのすぐ南側が宅地化され、新しい家が建ち並んでいます。
この一帯の地名は江戸時代以前より「石場」という地名で（現在も長久手市石場）、古くから良質な石が切り出されていた場所でした。
石場橋から少し下流にある橋です。
さらに100メートル程、下流に出るとリニモの「公園西口駅」が見えてきます。現在はこのあたりにも遊歩道が設けられています。
リニモの「公園西口駅」を抜けて、香流川沿いの遊歩道を歩いていきます。奥に見えるのがモリコロパークの大観覧車とIKEA長久手店。
さらに３分程、遊歩道を歩いて下流へと向かいます。夏には川の流れが見えないほど水辺の草がおおい茂ります。
遊歩道は自転車で往来することもできます。IKEA長久手店から５分くらいの所です。
同じ場所ですが、初冬になると景色の色もすっかり変わります。
