「香流川 砂防公園」の桜の木の下で – 長久手市の公園巡り❸ 【長久手タイムズ】
香流川砂防公園は、ブランコも滑り台も、コンビネーション（複合）も無い長久手では珍しい公園です。何があるかと言えば、小川や飛び石に橋と水場、春には桜の木、「土に水と石と樹と生き物」、といって良いかも知れません。
桜が咲き始めると次々に人々を誘いだす他の公園にはない魅力になっています。浅い水場も広くとくに子供たちには人気の公園になっています。
こんな公園があったんだと思わずびっくりしてしまいます。春にはぜひ立ち寄ってみたい公園の一つです。
「香流川 砂防公園」は、大昔より大雨の際には土砂の流出が多く、流域に水害をもたらしていました。そのため三ヶ峰から流れ下る土砂を田圃地帯に来るまでに前もって防ぐために設けられ現在は他の公園とは様相が異なる「砂防公園」となっています。
現在も大雨の時は、大量の土砂が流下しますが、土砂が下流に流れ行かないよう溜める工夫が土木技術的になされています。公園の上流側に出るとそれが分かる場所があります。
＊すぐ向かいにはクリザンテームヒルズへの入り口とファミリーマートがあります。公園側には20台程停められる駐車場もあります。
桜の木の上流に、この公園が「香流川砂防公園」となっている理由が見てとれる場所があります。公園は石で組み上げられた頑丈な堤になっていて、この場所で上流から押し流されてきた砂流を防ぐ工夫がなされています。
公園内の水流は、上流の澄んだ水だけを小川として流されたものです。
奥に見えるのはモリコロパークの南駐車場近くの高台。モリコロパーク・ジブリパークからすぐ近くです。
