モリコロパークの５月：西口から散策
ジブリパークへは、リニモの駅があるメインゲートであれ、リニモ公園西駅口であれ、広い駐車場のある公園西口であれ、まずはモリコロパーク（愛・地球博記念公園 EXPO 2005 AICHI,JAPAN ; 愛知万博メイン会場）に入園することになります。もちろん入園料金は無料です（駐車料金有り。平日・祝日ともに90分以内は無料）。
モリコロパーク自体のひろさは、194平米あり東京ドーム40個分、大阪ユニバーサルスタジオや東京ディズニーランドの約４倍（ディズニーシー含めると約２倍）あり、その半分は木々が植えられているので、自然豊な広大な公園の中に、その自然を活かして「ジブリパーク」がつくられたことになります。
愛・地球博の公式キャラクターであったモリゾーとキッコロが、公園西口のエントランス近くで出迎えてくれます。
モリゾーと森のことならなんでも知っている森の精。キッコロは好奇心と行動力いっぱいの元気な森の精です。
西口からすぐに池の向こうに「ジブリの大倉庫」が見えてくる
ジブリの大倉庫の向こう側、林床花園の入り口に不思議な形をした大きな建物「稲楼門」が見えてきます。
2018年まで名古屋の中村区に存在していた有名な旧料亭「稲本の門」が移築（復原）されたものです。
料亭の前身は、1923年に名古屋の大須から移転された中村遊郭で、1957年には「旅館」となり、その後、料亭「稲本」として長らく営業していました。
名古屋都市景観重要建築物に指定されています。
2009年に営業を終え、2018年に解体される際に、スタジオジブリが現場を視察。楼門を譲り受け解体保管、後にジブリが愛知県に寄付しています。2022年10月、ジブリパーク開園前に半年あまりの建築工事を終え使用開始。
反りのある入母屋屋根には織部焼の瓦（織部瓦）が敷かれています。また左右には朱色のべんがら塗りの袖塀が森の緑を背景に映えています。
