１人当たり都市公園面積、長久手市は愛知県第１位／杁ヶ池公園の秋【Nagakute Times】
ご存知の市民も多くいらっしゃると思いますが、長久手市は１人当たりの都市公園面積で、30m平米（約９坪：６畳の部屋と４畳間の和室と8畳程のリヴィングを合わせたくらい）で、愛知県で第一位になっています。
第二位は新城市で長久手より３割程少なく、次いでみよし市と豊川市、そして少しはなれて岡崎市、豊田市、春日井市、東海市、大府市、豊明市とつづき、だいたい長久手の３分の１程になっていきます。広大な愛知県森林公園がある尾張旭ですらさらにその次あたり。
大きな理由は、ディズニーシー含めた東京ディズニーランドやユニバーサル・スタジオ・ジャパンの４倍程（尾張旭の森林公園も同じ位）もある愛・地球博記念公園（モリコロパーク 県営都市公園）が市の東部にあり、長久手市の総公園面積に組み込まれるためですが、他の都市公園（市民公園）も各所にあり、子供たちや地元市民に親しまれゆっくり散策できるところが幾つもあります。
今回、あらためて市内の市民公園の代表格・杁ヶ池公園の秋を今年もまた少しばかりレポートします。
駐車場も２カ所ありますので、ほっとしたい時に30分ばかり立ち寄るのも良いでしょう。

杁ヶ池公園の紅葉は、トウカエデ、イロハモミジ、ハナノキなどから織りなされます。
園内には、85種の樹木の種類を見ることができます。
公園内にある地域共生センターの一つ「南小校区共生センター」
地域のイベント・ワークショップの開催場所としてだけでなく、休日や学校帰りの小学生たちが集う場所にもなっています。広場では高齢者にも人気があるフィンランド起源のスポーツ「モルック」もおこなわれています。100円珈琲も自由に飲めます
生きた化石とも言われる落葉針葉高木メタセコイアが黄金色に輝き公園にアクセントをもたらします

12月入ると黄金色のメタセコイアは赤茶色に変色し、紅葉の色と対をなします
池の周囲には、四季桜、ソメイヨシノ、ヤマモモ、キンモクセイ、ナンキンハゼ、ユリノキ、なじゃもんじゃの木、黄菖蒲、イロハモミジ、トウカエデ、コナラ、クスノキ、メタセコイアの木々が四季折々に咲き、公園はがらりと姿を変えます
