「喜婦嶽」
PlaceN. とは、PLACE NAME＝地名のこと。同時にPLACE NAGAKUTE =長久手の場のことでもある。
このコーナーでは、主に戦国時代から江戸時代にかけて存在し記された長久手の地名とその由来を紹介いたします。地名は時間を超えその土地の証と歴史を今日の私たちに運んでくれる貴重な情報でもあります。長久手町発行（平成元年）の『長久手の地名 1』（小林元 著）などを参照しつつ、新たな情報や取材画像とともにご案内致します。
「婦人が喜ぶ？」なんとも色気漂う地名「喜婦嶽（きぶだけ）」は、杁ヶ池公園駅から少し東寄り、グリーンロードの南側からはじまる一画の地名で、リニモが見える静かな住宅地になっています。
長久手市で最初の積水ハウスのホテル仕様になる高級ブランドマンション「シャーメゾン」が令和になってできたのもこの地です（因みに２番目の「シャーメゾン」はここからほど近い「城屋敷」）。
地名の由来は江戸初期にこの地にあった「きぶらけ池」（きぶいは厳しい＝傾斜の急な）が語源で、いつしか現在の漢字が当てられるようになったようです。昭和後期の区画整理で急な傾斜の土地20mも削られていますが、さらにその地下40mの地点には戦前の主要産業の一つとなった亜炭の鉱脈がありました。
植物でも主に葉っぱが真っ黒に固まった亜炭は香流川にも現在でもの露出しているところがあり、この地では広く分布していたことがわかります。喜婦嶽地蔵尊は、1931年に坑内出水の事故で命を落とした13名を祀っています。
長久手合戦の時、この地に陣取った秀吉方の森長可（ながよし）の軍勢が、北側に陣取った徳川軍に向かって突進した場所としてえがかれています。
