長久手のかつての中心地・岩作商店街を巡る❶ 【長久手タイムズ】
現在、長久手で大いに発展をとげ商業地になっているのは、西部と南部エリアですが、かつて大正〜昭和時代は長久手の中央に位置する「岩作」が長久手きっての商業地でした。今日では、どのような商店街だったか想像するのも難しいほどになっていますが、わずかに当時の面影が残っているような気がします。
長久手の役場（現在の市役所）も農協もかつては岩作の商店街の中にありました。それだけ人の往来がある場所でした。バスも細い道を縫うように走っていました。遠い記憶をたぐり、また記憶すらない時代の歴史。その歴史がなくては現在の長久手はありません。整備はされても道路の在処はおよそ当時のままなので、タイムスリップした感覚で道に沿って歩いてみました。
珈琲・軽食「ミホ」の横手から東へ一本の道が伸びています。下の地図から分かるとおり、200mほど行ったところにかつての村役場がありました。昭和42年に村役場が現在の長久手小学校の北方に移転した後、農協になりました。農協もまた後に現在の市役所の道を挟んですぐ近くの場所に移転されました。
長久手小学校の西側のかつてのバス通りに建つ店舗。奥に見えるのは長久手で最初にできた歩道橋。歩道橋ができた時は、大勢の子供や町民が見に集まったと語られています。

明治から昭和初期にかけ、長久手は亜炭採掘と養蚕で商店街は活況を呈していたと記録されています。この岩作商店街（地図の右方面・色金山方面へと商店街はさらに伸びています）には、生活に欠かせないものはかなり揃っていて、瀬戸の本地や菱野、山口や日進の北新田、名古屋名東区の猪子石方面からも買い物に訪れる人もいたとのこと。逆に岩作で買えない日用品以外の嫁入り道具や盆暮れの買い物など大きな買い物は、長久手から瀬戸や大曽根まで買いに出掛けることも多かったといいます。
長久手小学校の南側にある斜めの道。大正時代の地図にもあり恐らく明治、江戸後期からあったかも知れません。
かつての村役場の記録写真。瓦葺きの平家建てです。昭和42年（ 1967）に現在地に移転しています。
この場所の村役場の記憶がある方は、おそらく1950年代生まれ以前の方かと思われます。
私は1960m年生まれですが小学生低学年で役場に行く機会も理由もなかったのでしょう、記憶がありません。

この三叉路の20mくらい手間に長久手の昔の村役場がありました。現在は住宅地になっています。
長久手小学校の手前にある三叉路。かつては村役場への近道になっていたようです。奥は道がカーブしていきますが昔のままのようです。
長久手小学校の東側にある武田金物店。大正〜昭和20年頃の地図にはまだありませんが、昭和40年頃には間口も広く２階建ての立派な建物のお店として知られていました。私も小学生の頃、何度も利用させてもらいました。小学校の手前の通りで昭和40年代にあったお店として残っているのは武田金物店だけのようです。

岩作の商店街（大正〜昭和20年頃）に記録されているお店としては、この「ふとん店」だけでした。もちろん建て直しされていますが、昭和30年代後半〜40年代辺りのままだと思われます。当時布団店といえばこの場所のこの布団店だったので、私の実家もよく購入しに訪れていました。
前方の奥、右側に長久手小学校。手前の空きスペースは昭和40年代〜50年代には、美味しい長崎ちゃんぽんの店があった場所。
地図の右側方面を見る。一方通行の→の右側に行ったところに「ふとん店」の建物がある。
